Liverpool star Darwin Nunez helps Uruguay beat USA to maintain perfect record

Darwin Nunez was a starter for Uruguay in their 1-0 Copa America victory over the USA that secured top spot in Group C.

The forward played 89 minutes of the contest in Kansas City overnight as Mathias Olivera’s second-half effort confirmed a first-placed finish for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

Uruguay progress to the quarter-finals with a 100 per cent record and will face the runners-up of Group D – which contains Alisson Becker’s Brazil and Luis Diaz’s Colombia – in the early hours on Sunday.
